BIS a Summary
The purpose of
business information system (BIS) is to produce high-quality information that can be used to support the
activities of an organization. BIS bring business functions and information modules together
for establishing effective communication which are useful for making decisions and in turn contribute to organisational
productivity and competitiveness. This paradigm shift leads to global
outsourcing, strategic alliances and partnerships to be competitive in terms of
price, quality, flexibility, dependability, responsiveness. In order to gain a good
understanding of BIS, manager must first understand the nature of information
and how effective decisions are made.
